Principal, The OB♦C Group, LLC Nathan J. Miller joined the OB♦C Group in late March 2007, after serving in the United States Senate as Legislative Aide to Republican Senator Lincoln Chafee of Rhode Island. In this capacity, he was responsible for a wide range of issues including but not limited to the areas of banking and financial sector, energy and natural resources, environment, insurance, transportation and infrastructure, superfund and waste management, agriculture and forestry, and related appropriations. As Senator Chafee served on the Environment and Public Works Committee, Mr. Miller played an integral part to drafting and passing the transportation reauthorization bill of 2005, as well as legislation related to climate change, superfund, and alternative energy development. Before his service in the United States Senate, Mr. Miller was Counsel and Fiscal Analyst for the Ways and Means Committee in the House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In that capacity, he was responsible for development, drafting, and implementing the annual budget related to the Executive Office of Transportation, the Treasury, and the Public Employee Retirement Plan. Prior to government service, Mr. Miller worked in the New England Regional Office of The Nature Conservancy in Boston, Massachusetts. There he handled legal work related to trust and estate, real property, and corporate law issues. During his time with the Conservancy, he assisted on projects throughout New England, the East Coast, as well as Chile's Tierra del Fuego region. A native of Michigan, Mr. Miller holds a Bachelors degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. During this time, he was a member of the University’s football team and as a senior led them to the NCAA National Championship. He remains a strong supporter of the University and its Athletic Department. In addition, he has studied law at the University of Lund in Lund, Sweden and has a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts. He is admitted to the Bar in the State of New York as well as the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. |
