Robert H. Marsh joined the OB
C group in late September 2003, after serving in the White House as Special Assistant for Legislative Affairs to President George W. Bush. He served in that capacity from May 2000 until joining the firm. Focusing on the House of Representatives, Mr. Marsh dealt with a wide range of issues including but not limited to the areas of financial services, transportation and the judiciary.

Previous to his service in the White House, Mr. Marsh was Deputy Director of Federal Affairs for General Motors Corporation (GM) and Regional Government Affairs Manager for the American Automobile Manufacturers Association. While at GM, he ran the Federal PAC and worked on myriad issues, such as corporate average fuel economy (CAFÉ) and franchise law.

In 1994, Mr. Marsh was Campaign Manager for Mitt Romney’s first run for public office, the 1994 contest for the United States Senate seat held by Ted Kennedy.

Mr. Marsh worked as a Special Assistant to Secretary Andrew H. Card at the Department of Transportation, in President George H. W. Bush’s Administration. Additionally, he served on Capital Hill as Chief of Staff to U.S. Congressman Peter I. Blute of Massachusetts. In 1986, he was elected as a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives where he served three terms. In 1991, he was elected Assistant Republican Whip in the Massachusetts House. He is a past member of the Board of the Massachusetts Port Authority, which oversees the operations of Boston’s Logan Airport and the Port of Boston.

Mr. Marsh holds a B.A. in English and History from Hobart College in Geneva, New York.
